So this was my first semester to board away from home. I spent my first two years of college at one of Florida’s prestigious community colleges and obtained my AA degree. I now attend a four year university. It was a difficult transition, but I made the best of what I had. With the semester up, it was time for a home style meal. For the next month, there will be no more t.v. dinners! YaY! I ain’t even gonna front some Stouffer meals are banging with a little tlc (seasoning) but, I wanted a real meal. So after researching for Tampa’s best Southern Style “grubberies” I came across a little place named Urban Culinary Cafe, not to far from my sister’s place. Needless to say, the menu was enticing. Entrees consist of your choice of various styles of chicken, cat fish, and pork chops; side orders like mac and cheese, yams, red skin potatoes, collard greens, fries and rice are available as compliments. Also, they have a variety of cakes and pies.
I ordered the Cajuan Chicken with their seasoned white rice, that came with two sides and I picked mac and cheese and collard greens. It was delicious! Seasoned to perfection. For dessert I had caramel cake and to drink, sweet tea. The service was great as well. Ms. Rose was a big help!
The meal came up to $14 and change and it’s a large portion. I shared it with my sis and I had some left over for the next day.
So if your in the New Tampa Area be sure to check out
