Random Thoughts: If I had the chance to meet Josephine Baker I’d tell her thanks for being one of the first advocates for women. Despite critical and racial turmoil she continued to pursue a career as an entertainer. Traveling from the streets of Harlem, New York to Paris she became iconic for her use of the infamous banana peel costume. Without Josephine, there would be no Beyonce…

“. . . I improvised, crazed by the music. . . . Even my teeth and eyes burned with fever. Each time I leaped I seemed to touch the sky and when I regained earth it seemed to be mine alone.”
-Josephine Baker
