Her style will literally drive you bananas. It’s quirky, sweet, sophisticated, and everything in between. Fashion blogger Delmy Rivera, of FashionBananas.com, caught my attention a few years ago when I became enchanted with the blog world.
Looks familiar? Well, she should. Delmy’s been featured in prominent fashion sources such as Lucky Magazine, MTV Style, and the Huffington Post. I saw her photos on several blogs as a featured fashionista and quickly became in love with her sense of style! It’s as if every garment she pairs together are somehow made for each other. Her style will encourage you to take risk with fashion while remaining true to who you are. Just for that I had to get her to be the HerStyle is Divabulous feature this month.
This girl is truly a fashionista, one of my style inspirations and in my opinion has a ton of “SWAGG”.
Check out the photos, interview, and then be sure to check her blog. You’re destined to learn a thing or two…

KrissyJ: So it’s the weekend, you’re getting ready to hit the town with your girls. What is Delmy listening to while dolling up?
Delmy: Right now I’m listening to a lot of old school reggae, Beyonce’s new tracks and an artist I discovered in Madrid. Her name is Katy B. You should listen to her song Lights On.
KrissyJ: When did your style begin to evolve and how did you become confident with your sense of style?
Delmy: I was all about jeans, tees, and door knockers. Haha. Don’t get me wrong I can still rock that, but it would definitely be more refined. I’ve always been in love with fashion; especially growing up and watching my sister and my mom dress up. I would say by the age of 16 I started buying fashion magazines and experimenting more with different silhouettes. It’s when I became comfortable in my own skin.
KrissyJ: Who inspires your looks? Where do you get inspiration from to create new looks.
Delmy: Old photos of my mom are always my inspiration, but I do get inspiration from fashion magazines and movies.
KrissyJ: What’s your favorite garment?
Delmy: For a while it was my Black Norma kamali long blazer, but I just got a boucle jacket from Free People and its amazing!
Isn’t she HAWT! Gotta love it!
Being a BX native myself, I told Delmy something in that concrete jungle air
produces the most stylish and fascinating women. Thanks Delmy for doing the interview 🙂
