I’m having a great time in New York. My escapes from the south always gives me the push I need to maintain a go-getter attitude. My best friend tells me that I remind her of Samantha from Sex and The City. Just like Samantha, every chance I get I find myself in New York.
It’s a totally different world in New York. I love going down the block and seeing the community. Some people may call the Bronx “hood” but this is my hood. I learned so much growing up in the Bronx. Like how to be strong, be mindful of my surroundings, and speaking up for myself. I learn something new with every visit here too. New York motivates me to strive for greatness. Everyone I bump into up here is on their grind. Everyone wants to better themselves.
I love the culture in New York…the city truly never sleeps. The nonstop clock of this city pushes me to keep going; to keep trying. So far my journey in the big apple has taught me just that: Just keep at my goals. Growing up I had these big dreams to become great. I couldn’t envision my career, but I just knew I was going to be great. I still feel that way. I’m still growing. I just want to be able to give back to my community. I know that I will be a role model to the children in New York.
Anything is possible in good ole’ New York.
